Backing Up Employees' Drives
The Situation
Ron is the Head of IT at a marketing company with 50 creatives on staff. His team is regularly on the move, and unfortunately, laptops are lost, coffee is spilled, and other accidents happen. They also love new technology and are continually upgrading to new laptops, desktops, and phones. It is critical that their data is backed up somewhere. His need is simple: backing up employees’ drives.
The Problem
Ron needs a secure and simple way to restore his team’s data to new devices throughout the year. He is reluctant to use a cloud-based file sharing service because there is sensitive client data on their devices, and it is important that a drive can be restored to the same exact folder structure it had previously.
Ron knows that his team will be focused on their day-to-day jobs, so he needs to find a way to get these drives backed up automatically and in the background, or else it simply won’t get done.
The Solution
Ron searched to find a service that could do three things well:
1) Mirror drives identically
2) Make the user experience for his team easy, if not 100% automated
3) Keep the firm’s data private
Fortunately, Ron found Binfer; the only service that solved all 3. Binfer allows him to set up a Sync ‘rule’ for each of his team’s devices, to automatically backup all important files to his central server, any time they are added or edited. The process is automated, so files get duplicated in real-time, without any effort from his team.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the folder structure remains identical to how it looked on the Creative’s device, so when they need a new device for any reason, it is simple and fast to migrate the folders right over, good as new.
Ron now has a reliable way to backup and restore everything his team needs, with an easy setup and no hassle for the team. backing up employees’ drives
