Receive Tax Documents from Clients
The Situation
Tim is a Partner of a midsized Accounting firm with three offices in the New York area. He is responsible for tax preparation for clients ranging from individuals to small businesses. His clients face different tax deadlines due to being in 4 different states and meeting different extension deadlines; this means that he has several ‘busy seasons’ over the course of the year where he needs to receive high volumes of financial data from his clients. In the past, he has used tools that have frustrated client’s due to their complexity- he does not want to repeat that again. Tim’s need is simple, he needs an easy way for his clients to share tax documents.
The Problem
Tim needs a highly secure way of receiving data from his clients at various times throughout the year so that they may share tax documents. He is reluctant to use a cloud-based file sharing application since that means that his clients’ data will also be stored on a third party server outside of his firm’s premises. He also does not want to use a complex solution because he cannot bill for hours spent solving technological issues.
He needs a reliable and intuitive solution for his clients so he can spend his hours working on tax preparation, instead of dealing with frustrated clients who can’t get his choice of technology to work.
The Solution
Tim was in desperate need of a service that could do three things well:
1) Have a clear story he can explain as to why his file transfer tool is extra secure
2) Be extremely easy and intuitive on the client’s end
3) Organize files, so they are easy to find on his end
Fortunately, Tim found Binfer; the only service that solved all 3. Binfer allows him to create a ‘Web Drop’ which creates a Direct Device-to-Device connection between his device and his clients’ devices. The data moves much more securely as it is only ever stored on sender and recipients’ devices, without ever facing a data size limitation. The data is sorted by folder based on the sender, so Tim can easily find what he needs when he needs it.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, it is easy on the client side. All they need to do is go to the Link that Tim provides, then drag-and-drop the requested folder onto the page. They can do this with the comfort of knowing that the files will go directly to Tim’s device, without being stored on a third party server.
Tim never has to deal with tech-frustrated clients, and can safely receive all the files he needs, right when he needs them. Tim recommends Binfer to anyone who needs to share tax documents!
